Footprints in the Dust, by Douglas W. Light

Published: 1987 by Turner-Warwick Publications Inc., North Battleford, Saskatchewan.

"The book acquaints the reader with the background
of the days before open conflict, and proceeds with day to day happenings of what is known militarily as the Northwest Campaign." Photos., Cover: Hard 625 pgs.
This book includes a day by day diary of the events of the 1885 NorthWest Rebellion, but is most valuable to family historians for the identifying footnotes included by the author. Doug Light is descendant of a NWMP who served in Battleford, and of the historic Gunn family who trace their ancestry in Western Canada back to the 1700's. His father established and ran the Fred Light Museum in Battleford.
